About Me
My story is woven from a love of learning, teaching, and helping others feel at ease in their own lives. I started my professional journey in academia, earning a Ph.D. in Spanish Applied Linguistics and teaching at universities such as Georgetown and George Washington. I’ve always been fascinated by how people learn, communicate, and thrive when supported with the right tools and environment.

Alongside research and teaching, I discovered the power of yoga, mindfulness, and intentional rest—not only as personal practices but as transformative tools for students, professionals, and teams. With a 500-hour yoga teaching certification and years of experience in both ultra-luxury hospitality and education, I bring a unique blend of rigor, warmth, and creativity to everything I do.

That blend became the foundation for Indigo Intermissions, where I offer workday wellness breaks, mindful tutoring, and therapeutic yoga-based practices designed to ease stress, sharpen focus, and restore balance.

At the heart of it all are my core values: intention, accessibility, and care. I believe in making wellness and learning feel approachable, evidence-based, and personally meaningful. And I’m committed to being fully present with my clients—listening, adapting, and helping them thrive in ways that last well beyond a single session.

This site is both an introduction and an invitation. Take a look around, explore the offerings, and know that whether you’re here for workplace wellness or private sessions, you’ll find a thoughtful approach designed with you in mind.

I earned my Ph.D. in Spanish Applied Linguistics, where my research explored how different types of feedback influence learning and retention among students of Spanish. During my doctoral studies, I published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, received competitive fellowships, and presented at both national and international conferences. Along the way, I also honed skills in teaching, curriculum design, and mentorship. Prior to my doctorate, I completed a Graduate Certificate in Spanish Translation, which strengthened my foundation in language, culture, and communication. Currently, I am advancing my studies to become a certified yoga therapist through Beloved Yoga and Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda in Chennai, India, where I am learning to apply yoga therapeutically to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
